If you or someone you know have been curious as to what we offer, come visit us at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts and experience the serenity of our college community through any of our specialty clinics. This way you can experience it first hand! Our mission is to help people discover their Gifts and Graces and learn to serve in the world in a loving way. As part of our training, we offer Specialty Clinics to the public! Receive sessions in Asian Therapy, Cranial Unwinding, Hypnotherapy, Reiki, Reflexology, Life Coaching and Polarity, with students completing the programs.
Upcoming Holistic Healing Clinics will be held Sept 19 – Sept 29, 2011 @ Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. SEPTEMBER CLINICS Include… Hypnotherapy Clinic (Complimentary): The Hypnotherapy clinic is designed as a capstone experience preparing students to begin the practice of Hypnotherapy. Students hypnotize volunteer clients for the purpose of deep relaxation, stress and anxiety reduction, easing fears and phobias, and addiction abatement including smoking cessation and weight management. Some students are trained to do basic past life regression sessions. The sessions are done under the supervision of an instructor.
We know winter brings shorter daylight hours and longer nights, but does it seem to anyone else out there like the days speed by in a blur this time of year? An hour goes by in a minute, and it feels like the first morning cup of coffee is barely swallowed down and suddenly it is time to make dinner. Is anybody else looking into the setting sun and checking another box off the calendar while asking themselves, “What happened to this day?”
With this going on, it seems impossible to take some time for oneself for a treat like an hour massage or other healing therapy such as Reflexology, Shiatsu or Hypnotherapy. However, if you consider the idea of stopping the spinning time machine and blocking one hour out of the day for yourself, you will in effect be stopping the clock from consuming your day with work, errands, chores, more work, and finally, exhaustion. A little bit of holistic healing therapy goes a long way when it comes to fighting the potential physical and emotional effects of these chilly temperatures and shortened sunlight hours. That’s my spin on it, anyway, and I’m sticking to it.
An exceptional place to take that break is at the Specialty Clinics at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. Here you can enjoy extreme discount prices from students who are completing their coursework in holistic healthcare practices. The session prices range from complimentary to $15 per session. In addition, there is now a ‘Specialty Clinic Frequent User Card’ which is essentially a punch card-style discount plan, most of which give you a free session after a certain number of purchases. The sessions are supervised by an instructor and generally take place in a classroom at SWIHA’s serene college community.
Some examples of SWIHA’s Specialty Clinics:
Asian Therapy Clinic
Students practice interview, assessment and application skills using their individual Asian art modalities; including Shiatsu, Jin Shin Jyutsu® Physio-Philosophy Seminar, or Tui Na Bodywork for the purpose of client feedback and results. The treatments are done fully clothed under the supervision of an instructor.
The Hypnotherapy Clinic is a capstone to preparing students for the practice of Hypnotherapy. Students hypnotize clients to assist them with relaxation, stress and anxiety reduction, easing fears and phobias, and for addiction abatement including smoking cessation and weight management. Some students are trained to do basic past life regression sessions. The sessions are done under the supervision of an instructor.
Reflexology is a hands-on modality based on the principle that reflex areas exist in the feet, hands and ears. When these areas are stimulated, they improve relaxation and healing of the glands, organs, nervous and digestive systems and other body areas. The treatments are done fully clothed under the supervision of an instructor.
Reiki is an energy therapy system of holistic healing where spiritually directed life force energy is directed to various parts of a client’s body for the purpose of deep relaxation, relief of physical and emotional concerns and spiritual clarity. Reiki balances energy on a spiritual, mental, emotional & physical plane. It helps resolve problems, achieve goals & connect higher consciousness & spiritual purpose. The treatments are done fully clothed under the supervision of an instructor.
A full holistic care system combining hands-on contact, toning, breathing and gentle techniques which encourage the body in emotional and mental releases through facilitated dialogue.
Life Coaches support and encourage you to find your answers within for questions about work, personal life, goals and spirituality. Our coaching sessions are complimentary as a way for SWIHA to give back to the community.
